Invite your MP to ORG's event on Digital Sovereignty

How the UK controls its digital infrastructure, data and technology is the crucial political question of our day. Open Rights Group and the Citizens are holding an event in parliament where experts will discuss how the UK government can achieve Digital Sovereignty.

Can you help by emailing your MP and asking them to attend this event. We need as many MPs as possible to understand that there is an alternative to Big Tech dominance. MPs do listen to their constituents! Please tell your MP to join ORG's event on Monday 7 September.

Help us meet our goal of 200 emails sent. Let's make sure every MP sees an email!

169 of 200 emails have been sent. Will you help us send another 31?

Write to your MP

We ask for a phone number, as some MPs have stated they require constituents provide one. If you choose to give your phone number it will be added along with your address in the email to the MP.
We ask for your full address because MPs will only respond to messages they know are from their own constituents.

What’s going on?

The UK government relies on risky and costly big foreign companies to provide its digital infrastructure. These companies lock us in to their expensive services. Not only are we getting ripped off, but these companies have control and influence over our government.

We need a Digital Sovereignty Strategy to help the UK assess and reduce risks from foreign interference, vendor lock-in, insecure supply chains and over-reliance on foreign-supplied technologies. It would also support UK jobs, skills and innovation by encouraging investment in domestic capacity, open source software, open standards and more competitive technology markets.

We can achieve this but first we need to convince our MPs that it is possible. Please tell your MP to attend ORG's event on Monday 7 September so they can find out more.
