Stop the government tracking our air travel for six years

SurveillanceTheresa May wants every EU country to create a massive database of air traffic records, storing the details of everyone who travels by air for six years. The UK already - and we believe illegally - stores this data. UPDATE: Ken Clarke now says he wants to keep passenger data in for 15 years and be able to share it with the USA

We do not want massive databases of travel records stored for six years. Surveillance, to be compatible with human rights, must be targeted and specific, not generic and ubiquitous. This is an unwarranted intrusion into the privacy of every UK citizen and a huge extension of the “Database State”, completely contradicting the Coalition Programme for Government which says it will “roll back state intrusion”
